WXM presents “Careers in the Music Industry” panel on March 26th, 2020 at Treefort Music Festival
February 23rd, 2020— (Boise, ID)– WXM, a womxn in music organization of over 900 members based in the Pacific Northwest, will host a panel discussion about what it means to have a career in the music industry at this year’s Treefort Music Festival, March 25th-29th, 2020. Whether you’re an artist, industry person, or an enthusiastic music appreciator, “Careers in the Music Industry” will give an inside look into the nitty-gritty of recording sessions, music publicity, booking and artist management, label and venue management, and more.
The panel will be facilitated by WXM co-founder Nikki Barron, who, through her work with WXM, as founder of kittenteeth, a marketing agency serving independent musicians, and as of Marketing at Mastin Labs, works to champion financial sustainability and cultivate support for artists of all stripes.
“The music industry is shifting and changing so much that there is a lot of opportunities for music lovers to transfer their skills to the industry. We need innovation and my hope is this panel will show how you can make a meaningful career in music,” says Barron.
Barron will be joined by an esteemed panel of music industry members, many of whom are behind the musical acts performing at Treefort Music Festival this year: Megan Stoll, Marketing Director of Treefort Music Festival, Adrienne Labelle, Project Coordinator at Mint Records, Abigail Fulkerson, Production Manager at AEG, Leigh Bezezekoff, Booking Agent at Seattle’s The Tractor Tavern and manager at Sound & Vision Music, Skyler Locatellie, Account Executive at KEXP and co-founder of Freakout Records, and Karl Hofstetter, founder of Joyful Noise Recordings.
“They say, ‘You can’t be what you can’t see’ so it’s important to me to present a panel of industry folks that isn't just men so we can send the message they are wanted and bring value to the industry,” said Barron.
The “Careers in the Music Industry” panel will take place on March 26th, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at The Hilton Garden Inn.
